Abandoned Public Space
There are many beautiful plants, in places where the public has little to no access. In the city of Piraeus there is a common lack of green public space. Additionally, the parks that do exist are either not looked after, have restricted access or are not accessible at all to the greater public. The full potential of these green spaces is not being properly tapped. The parks need to be opened up for the community with a better accessibility. Through allowing the locals to replant parts of abandoned parks and spots in the city, a communal responsibility for these places would evolve and the community itself would maintain the appearance and use of those parks. In a community garden, community improvement, physical or mental well-being, and land conservation can be improved. Productive Plants are being planted by the locals and harvested by the locals.
